Linda Bernard - Ringside ACDs Passes

BERNARD, Linda Martha "Raz" of St. Petersburg, passed away peacefully, in her sleep on Thursday, Feb. 21. "Aunt Linda" or "Linda Senior" to family, and beloved friend to many, was born in Evanston, IL, and moved to South Florida in her early childhood. She graduated from University of West Florida and moved to St. Petersburg, following her graduation. She was the jack of many trades, but settled in the restaurant business in the 1980s. She owned Tangelos and Ringside Sports Bar and Restaurant. She recently opened the successful and much acclaimed Brisket Basket, which is scheduled to open a franchise soon. In addition to the restaurant business, Linda successfully ran Bernard Merchant Group that represented Home Décor vendors for the Home Depot Expo Design Centers. Linda was the "razzle dazzle," hence her nickname "Raz." She will fondly be remembered as the life of the party, the matriarch of St. Petersburg, and the sparkle in everyone's lives. She had a distinctive ability to gather everyone for all occasions. Linda was a teacher and mentor, and the caretaker of all who needed help. Her father, Leonard M. Bernard, her mother, Lorraine Shoenbeck, her brother, Leonard M. Bernard Jr., and her cousin, Vincent Bernard preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Patricia F. Bernard; her two nephews, Leonard M. Bernard III and W. Colin Bernard; her niece, Jackie Bernard Eskay; and her cousins, Regina Bernard Banks, Pamela Bernard Bryant, Penny Bernard Frank, Charles Edward Bernard III, and Richard M. Bernard; and 11 grandnephews and nieces. A Celebration of Linda's Life will be held at 4 pm at the Ringside Sports Bar on Sunday, Feb. 24. A Memorial Service will be held at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr. MLK Jr. St. N., St. Petersburg, on Monday, Feb. 25, with a gathering beginning at 3 pm and the Service at 4 pm. Published in the St. Petersburg Times on 2/25/2008 Linda was Ringside Australian Cattle Dogs - home to Carben Copy's Truth Be told and the supporter of the late great Imbach's Paddy Willy - dogs influential in many of the top breeding lines today.  Linda was excited about her new pup just hitting the show ring.  She truly loved our breed.  She was member of Australian Cattle Dog Club of America for many years.  She served as a mentor for many in the breed.
