Just Breathe -

One of my favorite sounds is the sound of wind through the leaves.  Monday was the first day of the hushed chatter of spring leaves in the wind.  I realize over a week ago I last posted to this blog.  I haven’t forgotten my faithful readers. 

 

Is it VooDoo or Digital DooDoo?

Actually, I opened the blog post window on several occasions and had long posts nearly finished when disaster struck:  power outage (strange, strange one), blue screen computer crash, browser crash…  So, I have been a little trepid about attempting an update.  I will be sure to save this in drafts and am using a different software so I will not lose the entire post in the event of another crisis.

Maybelle is now SIX

On Monday the 14^th Miss Maybelle Rose turned 6.  She wore her new bicycle helmet, ballerina dress, and knee pads constantly for days.  On a sugar-high from her pinata candy, she actually was a little more grounded after the event filled day.  She is still full of ideas and initiative to prove her “adult” status at 6.  Needless to tell you parents out there, this requires quite a bit of my energy and attention

Deadlines Approach

I am under the gun to complete some rather large projects before June 1.  The pressure is on.  Of course, the digital demons are at work so what should be simple often isn’t.  With these deadlines looming, I’ve kept my nose to the grindstone and have limited smaller updates and more complicated image based updates until after June 1.  I have subcontracted out some scanning and code cleaning though I need to find another arrangement as the turn-around time is simply too long.

Where's Waldo

Yes YES!  I am still alive.  I’m going to take a break here and try to give everyone some idea what has been going on.

Reschaven Rottweilers has the beginnings of a site live.  Not without difficulties since I seemed to hit some database installation snags.  After hours of work, I realized they were actually caused by sleep deprivation.  I simply cannot afford to lose more work time to lack of sleep.  So, I will be rearranging my schedule to reflect the season changes and the demands of my health condition.

Several small updates were accomplished during this snafu. 

• litter pictures posted to Ringside ACDs
• stud photo posted to Carben Copy ACDs
• massaging of the new Zornes GSD website trying to get things just right (this is a normal thing with any new website)
• Link posted to Better Companion
• Links fixed on Lazytea Creations
• template work on AK Hound Group, Mat-Su Valley Writers, and ACDCA 2007
• updates to ACDCA.org (yes – more to come)
• accepted 2 new clients – Toyland Kennels and Renske’s Stubyhoun

Meanwhile – back at the ranch we are arranging for Jean to go up on the mountain to housesit for a large kennel (2 in heat) and Maybelle is teething a huge molar.  The dogs want warmer weather – more walks – room to run – and to get back to work.  Which I’d better do now.  More updates to come before morning, I’m sure.

Sorry for the lack of communication.  Sometimes when embroiled in battle with one’s sleep demons it is difficult to have the perspective to file a suitable civil update.

 

I'm Baaaaaack

Ok - I've been back in the "cool" state of Alaska for the past week.  Last night, I finally made my way through the over 1000 emails in my inbox and dispatched several minor updates for sites.  I've been so sick with some crud I assume comes from being held captive on an airplane for hours on end that I lost a few days work to simply trying to be able to breathe and see at the same time. 

Many of you know my trip was fun but not without some problems.  I lost my beloved Sheltie of 10 years while I was away.  He came up lame and I had to make the difficult decision to let him cross the rainbow bridge via cell phone from the back seat of my mother's van somewhere in Aitkin County, Minnesota.  My daughter had to make a similar decision a few days later when her cat of 17 years took a severe turn for the worse.  Luckily, the other 3 dogs have remained robustly healthy though there are times I wish they were a little more mature and better trained. 

I'd like to welcome several new clients aboard.  Their sites will be appearing soon.  Please remember that I cannot post what I do not have.  For those established clients who would like their updates done most expediently, be sure to provide the most complete and accurate information you can.  I can get the update done far more quickly if I don't have to search about for details and piece together things.  That includes giving me the URL of pages you wish changed. 

A big thank you to all for your patience and support during my absence from the shop.  Also, gratitude to those who have visited my CafePress shop and purchased items.  It helps me keep my basic rates as low as possible.  You should see more new items there quite soon.  I have some great pictures I took on vacation.

I'm Outta Here

Thanks to everyone who helped with the effort, I am leaving for Minnesota and an extended stay with my mother October 1 - October 21.  It has been a hectic few weeks getting everyone caught up and my new clients online. 

During this time, updates will be limited to critical updates.  If you find your site is down or you are having trouble with email, please call me on my cell 907-232-2930.  I do consider 8 week puppy pictures to be a critical update so please send them to me with "8 weeks" in the subject line.

Though I am visiting family, I think of all my clients as one big family.  I am blessed to have all of you and look forward to the year-end updates and new year revisions when I return.
